Crawlers and Brawlers are two of the most popular games in the SNK's history, and so the publisher announced today that both have sold 2.4 million copies. The two games, the first is released for the Neo Geo AES in May 1995, and the second is scheduled for release in December 1999.

"With its timeless gameplay, the title is a natural evolution of the action-platformer genre, focusing on fast-paced, fast-paced action that you would expect from a genre such as action games," said Yukio Futatsugi, president of SNK's marketing and publishing division. "Crawlers and Brawlers are two of the most popular genres in the gaming industry, with numerous great games for the system. The two titles represent a fundamental opportunity for us to focus on a quality new genre in the market."

According to a statement from Crawlers producer Shinji Ogawa, a sequel to Brawlers is currently in the planning stages and will be released this summer. Although no screenshots have been released at this time, the title will contain more than 20 characters and several environments.

The Neo Geo AES version of Brawlers is slated to be released in March 1999. It's not known whether the two games will be bundled together in the same package or as part of the Neo Geo Mega Pack collection.

SNK NeoGeo Suikoden III is scheduled to be released in September 2000 in Japan. An English version of the game has not been announced.

The PlayStation version of Grand Theft Auto III has not yet been released in the West.

Ubi Soft has released a NeoGeo Pocket Color edition of its popular arcade title Splinter Cell, which will be released in the US later this year.

Konami Computer Entertainment America has announced a three-episode PlayStation Portable edition of its classic games in addition to a limited-edition version of Final Fight Advance and Metal Slug. Both games will be released in Japan this summer.
