The screen's brightness was higher than the OLED screen's and we found ourselves slightly concerned about the view on the TV itself, while the clarity of the OLED screen made the Switch itself a dream to use. The more extreme one was, however, when watching TV shows such as Doom Eternal or Sonic Frontiers in handheld mode. The screen's huge size, great colours and impeccable contrast ensured that the image was always clear and colourful.

If you're after a portable gaming device with a screen of this size, though, this is the one to go for. The Switch OLED screen is huge and can stretch to an impressive 16 inches when stretched to 30 inches, and you can easily get more than that if you want a console with a better screen for gaming. The screen's refresh rate can be up to 120Hz, and there's also a kickstand with all the ports you'll need. The option of adding a second screen is the perfect way to get your Switch into the living room, as the screen can easily be mounted above your TV, though the second screen can only be used on the TV. It's a minor complaint, but if you want a portable gaming experience on the go, it's a great option.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max meanwhile has the same battery life as the iPhone 13 Pro Max, with 5 hours and 36 minutes in the real world, with iOS 14.1 here and the same battery life. That's a particularly impressive result considering the hardware inside. It can now be bought in Black, Gray, Blue, White or Pacific Blue, and the camera is a brand new technology, but still uses the same basic sensors and lenses as the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Finally, the iPhone 13 Pro Max comes with an impressive new battery, capable of up to 18 hours of talk time and 45 minutes of video streaming. That's far more than the 5 hours you'll get from the iPhone 12 Pro Max when you add in the cellular version, but even then this isn't quite as good as what's possible with cellular.
