Apocalypse: Partys Over

Apocalypse: Partys Over is the sort of name that screams “Apocalypse with America” and is about a semi-sentient forest boy who gets very excited about killing his dog. In what seems like a long while, he meets a bunch of fire-breathing characters and discovers they are mutants, right before he meets with a simple-to-do boy who seems to have something to say about the way the world is being “comparable” to the kind that’s dealt with in the studio’s Ratatouille films.

Now, though, Whedon has decided that he is going to make another live-action film with a story that isn’t a riff on Logan . A little similar to the comic-book series Spider-Man , the story is a version of Frankenstein that creates a pathogen as the King of Demons and an army to guide mankind from creation to extermination.

When his brother works for the Primeval Science Corporation, he discovers that all the scientists in the outside world have turned him into a man who can create life, with an agenda to kill and destroy people he has sent into existence. That's because the Nazis are now criminals.

An early Pirates Of The Caribbean is a highly stylised and genuinely well-made film, with the likes of Barbossa, Jackie Brown and Burt Reynolds at its core. But as the movie is a direct adaptation of G.I. Joe , the rights to G.I. Joe will inevitably be lost.

Finally, we’re introducing a new partnership with the Emory gang, a group that represents the mighty pirate King Arthur.

There’s a reason for this. He leads a group of men into battle against the biggest enemy they can find to date in the trading nation of Port Royale. The Warriors, in addition to them, are the two most feared groups in the kingdom.

Their battle, as we know, is anything but that. As well as battling the many factions in the Kingdom, the most powerful members of the crew are soldiers and shipbuilders.

From the English screen, these characters will be present and correct, each with their own screen time, even during sequences that are set before the films.

A spokesperson for the Emory’s deal reads, “Our deal with Emory does not include the film rights to this classic animated series.

“Our deal with King Arthur, Emory 2: The Quest for a Legend, will include the series rights to this beloved animated series, along with the rights to the original series.”

That news is rather telling, since not only is this a deal between Emory and King Arthur, but it’s also the first time that I’ve seen King Arthur in action, or played a video game.

Both the ‘Treasure Command’ and the sequel are going to be available on consoles and handhelds, making this the most significant of Emory’s collaborations.

While the first two games do give some potential for neat interactions between these characters, I’m also pleased to see another source of inspiration: the upcoming film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, will be adapting the story from the series’ most recent movie, Dead Man Walking.

“It’s a big franchise that’s making a lot of money,” says Emory, “and what’s great is that when people do that, they’re always getting new things.”

So, I really want to see King Arthur in action, and even more so for that moment in the narrative.

With regards to the ‘Creedling’ miniseries, I think it will be safe to assume that the ‘television show’ itself will focus on Arthur’s Arthurian legend and attempt to establish a connection to the comics’ deep mythos and crossover. As far as Emory and Dead Man Walking go, this is the most intriguing element of the series, though, because it’s not a straight-up reality TV show.

“It’s actually not a scripted show,” Emory tells me. “But it’s a medieval and Victorian kind of take on the universe.”

But if you’re a fan of Emory’s novels and have read the series before, you’re probably going to appreciate how familiar this style will feel. One of the most striking elements is that in his novels, Emory feels like Arthur Morgan, not Arthur Morgan’s half-brother. In fact, the duo’s relationship is so similar that both the Arthurian legend and Emory’s stories diverge drastically.
